Honest limits: All fonts from this site’s preview folder plus openly licensed Google webfonts (Noto Nastaliq Urdu, Amiri, Scheherazade New — all SIL OFL) are offered here; fonts are rendered into the image only, no font file is downloaded. Your uploaded photo never leaves your device. If you use someone else’s poetry, credit the poet — this tool does not check copyright. JPG has no transparency; for YouTube thumbnails use JPG or PNG (YouTube does not accept WebP as a thumbnail).

The Urdu Poetry Card Maker is a free, browser-based tool for turning a short sher or quote into a neat, shareable card. Type your lines, add the poet’s name on its own line, choose a font and background, and download the result as a PNG, JPG or WebP image — no sign-up and no design software needed.

How to Use the Urdu Poetry Card Maker

  • Type or paste your sher in the Sher / Quote box at the top of the tool. Keep it short — two lines usually read best on a phone screen.
  • Add the poet’s name in the separate Poet / Author name field. It appears on its own line below a decorative divider, so it is never mixed into the sher itself.
  • Pick a font from the 25 available — all 22 of the site’s preview fonts, starting with Jameel Noori Nastaleeq, together with the 3 openly licensed Google webfonts (Noto Nastaliq Urdu, Amiri and Scheherazade New) — then choose a card size: 1080×1080, 1080×1350 or 1200×630.
  • Choose a background — dark gradient, green gradient, black, or your own photo. A photo background gets a 45% darken overlay to keep the text readable.
  • Adjust the text colour if needed, and use the quality slider (50–100%) for JPG and WebP downloads. PNG ignores the quality slider.
  • Check the canvas preview, then click Download PNG, Download JPG or Download WebP. Click Clear to start again.

If you need to draft longer Urdu text first, start with the Online Urdu Keyboard, and check its length with the Urdu Word Counter before you paste it into the card maker.

How It Differs from the Plain PNG Maker

The Urdu Text to PNG Image Maker is a general tool for turning any Urdu text into a PNG image. This poetry card maker is built for a different job: it adds a separate poet name line with a decorative divider, and it offers poetry-sized formats for social posts rather than a single plain image. If you only need plain text as a picture, use the PNG maker. If you are sharing a sher, use this card maker so the poet’s name is presented clearly and the card is already sized for WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook.

Poet Credit, Explained

Crediting the poet matters because a sher is someone’s creative work, not just decorative text. A clear poet name line tells readers who wrote the lines, helps them find more of that poet’s work, and avoids presenting another person’s poetry as your own or as anonymous. It also makes a card more trustworthy: readers can tell at a glance whether the words are yours, a classical poet’s, or a contemporary writer’s.

The tool cannot verify ownership. It does not check whether a sher is correctly attributed, whether it is in copyright, or whether you have permission to share it. That responsibility stays with you: only share poetry you wrote yourself, poetry that is clearly in the public domain, or poetry you have permission to share, and keep the poet’s name on the card.

Where You Can Use Your Poetry Cards

  • WhatsApp status: use 1080×1350 for a tall status card, or 1080×1080 for a square share in chats and groups.
  • Instagram: use 1080×1080 for a feed post and 1080×1350 for a story-style card. Short shers stay readable at both sizes.
  • Facebook: use 1200×630 for a wide post card, or 1080×1080 for a standard feed post.

For a single name as a profile picture rather than a full sher, the Urdu Name DP Maker is the closer tool. To add punctuation or diacritics to your wording first, use the Urdu Symbols Picker, and to preview the wording in other faces, try the Live Urdu Font Previews tool.

Honest Limits

  • The tool now offers 25 fonts: all 22 of the site’s preview fonts, starting with Jameel Noori Nastaleeq, together with the 3 openly licensed Google webfonts — Noto Nastaliq Urdu, Amiri and Scheherazade New. Any future fonts added to the site’s preview list will also be available here. Every font is rendered into the downloaded image only; no font file is downloaded or redistributed.
  • Your photo stays in your browser. An uploaded background photo is read locally and never leaves your device, which also means it is not saved by this page.
  • The tool does not check copyright, attribution or permission. Crediting a poet on the card is not proof that you have the right to share their work.
  • JPG has no transparency. If you need a transparent background, download PNG instead.
  • Long shers can become small or crowded on a card. Shorten the text or choose a larger card size before downloading.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is it free?

Yes. The Urdu Poetry Card Maker is free to use in your browser, with no sign-up and no installation. Open the page, make a card and download it.

Which fonts are available?

The tool now offers 25 fonts: all 22 of the site’s preview fonts, starting with Jameel Noori Nastaleeq, together with the 3 openly licensed Google webfonts — Noto Nastaliq Urdu, Amiri and Scheherazade New. Any future fonts added to the site’s preview list will also be available here. Every font is rendered into the downloaded card image only; no font file is downloaded or redistributed.

Can I use my own photo?

Yes. Choose the photo background option and upload an image. It is shown with a 45% darken overlay so the sher and poet name stay readable.

Do I need to credit the poet?

Yes, whenever the poetry is not your own. Add the poet’s name in the separate poet name field so it appears on its own line with a divider. The tool does not check copyright or permission, so make sure you have the right to share the sher.

Which size for Instagram?

Use 1080×1080 for an Instagram feed post and 1080×1350 for a taller, story-style card. Both sizes are available in the size menu.

Can I download transparent PNG?

Download PNG if you need transparency, because JPG has no transparency. Note that this card maker draws a background colour or gradient behind the text, so a card made with a background selected will not be transparent; use PNG for the best quality when you need a clean, shareable image.

Does my photo leave my device?

No. Your uploaded photo is read in your browser only and never leaves your device. It is not uploaded, stored or shared by this page.
